January Wrap-Up!

So, I read 8 books this month, I think that's a pretty good start to the year, don't you? One of these books I was really unhappy about, which was Matched, but other than that they were a good bunch.

Matched by Ally Condie-2/5 Stars
I'm not going to spend too long on this one because I did a review on it, but I was very disappointed.

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini-5/5 Stars
I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did, and picked it up from the library on a bit of a whim really, but I was pleasantly surprised. I liked pretty much all the characters, but at the beginning thought it was a bit twilighty-I think mainly because of the fact there were lots of people living in the same house and they'd just moved there and what not. It did annoy me for the first 100 or so pages, but I saw past this, thankfully and am looking forward to Dreamless, which is the second in the trilogy.

A Million Suns by Beth Revis-5/5 Stars
I loved this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I'm not sure if it was better than the first one or not. It was more figuring things out in my opinion, but I think Across the Universe has the edge for me, mainly because of how different it was to any other book I'd read. I can't wait to pick up the final installment, Shades of Earth, as everyone says its so much better than the first two COMBINED, so am defiantly wanting to read that as soon as I can.

If I Stay by Gayle Forman-4/5 Stars
I went into this book really not sure what to expect. I had the faint idea of her being trapped in the mid-after life, but I'm not sure what I thought it would be like. I did like this book a lot, I loved the protagonist, Mia, and loved how she took into account everything about her life to come to a decision at the end of the book. I really liked all the characters and thought they were well rounded and enjoyed the format of the book. I was expecting to come into this book and cry- a lot, but I actually didn't. So, overall, it was a great book but I didn't feel like adding that last star. I will be picking up Where She Went, and hopefully will re-read this sometime.

Percy Jackson: Battle of the Labyrinth,  Percy Jackson: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan- both 5/5 Stars
I love Percy Jackson, what more is there? I love this world Rick created, the characters...everything. I'm a sucker for mythology so when I saw these books at my school library, and after putting them off and putting them off I had to pick them up and I did. So finally I finished the series, I wont say much on risk of ruining the series, but thumbs up Rick, you did it again!

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green- 5/5 Stars
What can I say? What is there to say about this book? Mind-blowing, happy, funny, tragic, thought-provoking...it was just one of a kind and I loved every single bit of it.

City Of Ashes by Cassandra Clare- 5/5 Stars
If you remember from my haul, I read City of Bones a while ago, and had actually read the first 50 pages or so of this but then put it down and returned it to the library. So, i bought it, and loved it.I love Cassandra Clare's writing, her characters, this world shes created. My favourite characters in this would either be Simon, Alec or Magnus...but I had a soft spot for Luke too. However, Jace and Clary annoy me- Clary especially, but I don't want to say too much in case of spoilers :/ But yes- good book, and will defiantly read City of Glass soon.

Either I'm a high rater, or I just read some really good books this month! If you want me to do a review on any of these books, tell me below or just tell me what you read this month, I'd love to know!
